Walks and hiking

To see Cornwall in all its glory you need to get out there!  There are lots of coastal walks available (all free) for the easy stroll or a more pacey ramble. Moles Chamber provides copies of a number of suitable walks for all ages and all weather conditions.

Eden Project

This is one of Cornwall’s most famous tourist attractions. Eden Project is near St Austell, approx. 21.3 miles (36 minutes by car) from Moles Chamber, Granite Henge.

Looe beach

Looe beach and town

Just 2.5 miles away, this very quaint yet beautiful fishing village and seaside town is extremely popular with holidaymakers, as it has plenty to do, safe sandy beach, great places to eat and fabulous sights out to sea.
It even has a pier and plenty of shops if beach-combing isn't your thing. There is a good selection of pubs, cafe's, take-away's and restaurants, particularly in the evenings. Highly recommended.

Porfell Wildlife Park lemurs day out

Porfell Wildlife Park

Porfell Wildlife Park is a wild family attraction only a few miles from Looe.

It offers sanctuary to many different animals from around the world.  They might be neglected, injured, imported illegally or simply no longer wanted.  The result is a living attraction quite unlike a zoo. Here children (and adults!) can get up close to wildlife, feed the animals, touch them and learn all about the natural world.

For more information about whats on in Cornwall, visit Cornwall365.com, or Visit Cornwall, or Cornwall Live.  For more local information, see Visit Looe, or Welcome To Looe and Polperro websites.

cycling

Family cycling days out

There are plenty of routes available to enjoy the countryside or sea views. Pre-planned routes are available.
You can get around by bicycle to almost anywhere in Cornwall, whether by pedal power or electric power.
Cycle hire is available for delivery to your accommodation - see cornwallbikehire.co.uk.  Other venues offer cycle hire too.

Polperro

Polperro historic town

The town of Polperro lies just 2.5 miles to the south of Moles Chamber, Granite Henge.  Unlike Looe, it is much more tranquil, but none less fascinating.  The narrow streets harp back to a bygone age - not of the motor car but of pony and trap.  Its highly recommended. Beware that streets are quirkily narrow and most cars will struggle to get past.  There is a car park at both the top and the foot of the village, and transport can be arranged for getting up the hill if needed.

monkey sanctuary rescue day out

Polperro historic town

The Monkey Sanctuary is home to a variety of rescued primates, often who have not had a very happy start to life. The needs of the monkeys always take priority here. The centre affords these monkeys the time they need to recover and progress physically, emotionally and socially.

Lanhydrock House

Lanhydrock House

This 19th century house displays museum-like rooms taking you back to the late 1800' allowing a glimpse of life 'below stairs' in that time.  Not to be outdone, the property also includes access to pathways edged by beautifully tailored lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees and everything besides, a marvel to behold.  A good full day visit whatever the weather. Just 14 miles (24 mins by car) from Moles Chamber, Granite Henge.
